I suffered from chronic kidney diseases. My father and my brother told me that the prescribed medication could only control the symptoms but not heal the sickness. So it was up to me whether I took the medication or not. I was also told that the most important thing was to watch the daily intakes of salt and protein. One of my family elders was a traditional Chinese herbalist. He prescribed Chinese medicinal herbs for me to prevent my kidney condition from getting worse. On my way to the States, my brother saw me off at the airport and said: “My dear sister! From now on, you are on your own. You have to take good care of yourself!” He repeated the same phrase over and over again. “Contact me when it gets worse.”

I was in a grave depression while living in Los Angeles for many years. Mainly I felt weak and tired most of the time. I slept more than most people do, but I always felt that I did not get enough sleep. Naturally, I was very emotional and had a bad temper. A year ago I came across Mahayana Zengong and joined the group. The more I practiced Mahayana Zengong, the more confident I became. My mental outlook improved a great deal. I felt that I made good progress. I began to look forward to a bright day every morning.

I was not the kind of person who bravely faced reality head on. There are people who would anxiously get regular medical check-ups and want to know the test results immediately. I stayed away from the doctor for an examination until three months ago. My doctor informed me that my urine contents were normal! I could hardly believe what I heard. In fact I would have been very happy just to hear that I made a little improvement in my kidney condition. I was so excited that I phoned my folks in Taiwan that day. They were in disbelief. My elder brother was really in exuberant spirits, and told me: “My dear sister, whatever you are doing must be right. Just keep on doing it! Practice harder and more diligently!”

In addition to taking good care of myself I strongly feel that I should spread the good news. Actually I felt that it was quite necessary to tell this unbelievable story. Because of my real life story my sister-in-law, who lived in Taiwan, joined Mahayana Zengong. Consequently more of my relatives and friends also joined Mahayana Zengong. It takes great courage to share my story with you today. I am particularly grateful to the Grand Masters, the profound Mahayana Zengong teaching, and the teaching assistants of the LA Center.

About this time last year, I attended a seminar presentation like you. I hesitated in making a decision about whether to register for the class or not. However, I saw a woman filling out a registration card before the presentation was over. I asked her: “Why are you in such a hurry to sign up for the class?” She responded: “Madam Yeh-Mann recommended it to me. She told me that I should not miss the great opportunity to learn Mahayana Zengong when the Grand Masters come to Los Angeles.” To my knowledge, Madam Yeh-Mann was a wise elder, and was highly respected in the Buddhist community. So, why should I hesitate in making my decision? After the conversation I made up my mind right then and there. That was how I became a student of Mahayana Zengong.

The Beginning Class was given in the first six months. I practiced Chi-Kung exercises and meditation daily and made excellent progress. Six months later, I learned Buddha Dharma, in addition to more advanced Chi-Kung, and meditation in the Intermediate Class. I particularly enjoyed the song entitled “Praise of the Profound Teachings” and sang it incessantly. I entered the Advanced Class a few days ago. The materials given in that Class were even more valuable.

Today I am grateful that I have had this opportunity to share my rebirth with you. I hope that you will join us in learning the wonderful Chi-Kung Exercises and meditation practice.
